These include poor effluent quality, undersized or oversized works, problematic connections to the works, faulty parts or design and even overcharging by the Environment Agency for discharge fees. The Environment Agency are keen to apply pressure to small businesses with problematic sewage works, with the possible result of court conviction. Peak will first liaise with the Environment Agency to allay unnecessary enforcement action. Not all works require the same solutions, but by analysing the effluent quality, checking design loads and the correct use of the drainage into the plant, we have developed a track record of bringing old works back within effluent discharge consent standards. Finally, any work required can be arranged, carried out and supervised by Peak. We also offer a monitoring and assessment programme that most of our clients have taken up once remedial works have been completed. A quarterly sample will show up any plant problems whilst they are still reversible, reducing the threat of prosecution. |
